From beachside cafes to hidden gems, here’s where to find the best brews along the Garden Route:

Elvis Brew Co

For a retro vibe with a modern twist, head over to Elvis Brew Co which is owned by the former 2010 Idols winner, Elvis Blue.

They have opened several coffee shops (or Padstal), but the first one is located right opposite the airport in George. Here they have perfected the art of roasting, offering rich, full-bodied flavours. So grab a seat and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere while watching the planes soar to the sky.

You can also buy yourself some coffee beans which are roasted at the Padstal. There are also other merchandise you can look out for.

So make sure you keep an eye out for the bright yellow building when you’re in George again.

Blue Shed Coffee Roastery

Nestled in Mossel Bay, Blue Shed Coffee Roastery is a hidden gem for true coffee lovers.

This rustic coffee shop has made quite a name for itself, with spectacular ratings on Tripadvisor.  The cozy setting and the roastery’s attention to detail make it a favourite among locals.

Place your order at the counter, and then take a seat and wait for the waiters to bring you your order. Apart from their delicious coffee, there are also some delicious light lunches to choose from. We had the sandwich and pie, which was super delicious.

Slow Roasted Coffee

If you are passing through Sedgefield, don’t miss out on Slow Roasted Coffee. This spot truly lives up to its name, taking a slow and careful approact to every cup. It’s an excellent place to relax, whether you’re catching up on a good book or just taking in the chilled vibes of the town. Their coffee is smooth and satisfying, making it a perfect stop on your journey.

If you are there on a Saturday, then you can also make your way to the famous Wild’s Oats Farmers Market. Afterwards, head over to explore Gericke’s Point.

Hallo Coffee

If you want to enjoy your coffee with a nice view of the ocean from afar while being surrounded by lush greenery, then this is the perfect spot for you. Hallo Coffee is located close to the famous ‘Map of Africa viewpoint’ in Wilderness and is a great stopping point while exploring. Place your order in the container and then you can make your way to the seating area that is scattered around. There are also some delicious snacks to enjoy with your cup of coffee.

This is a great spot to see the paragliders soar above the sea in the distance, as the take-off area is located close to this shop.

St Blaize Lighthouse Restaurant

Okay, so this is not a ‘coffee shop’ per se, but they do have some delicious coffee. And to be honest, I think the view from this restaurant is also the reason this spot to make the list.

Perched on the cliffs with stunning ocean views, this cafe offers more than just a great brew. You can also enjoy a tour to the top of the lighthouse. So, take the very steep steps to the top, admire the view, and then end your adventures with a nice cup of coffee.

Just note that parking is limited here, so go early to avoid having to walk up the hill.

Seeplaas

If you’re looking for a coffee spot with a little extra charm, Seeplaas in Groot Brak River is a must-visit. Again, more of a restaurant than a coffee shop, but the service here was absolutely impeccable.

This art gallery and restaurant combo is an inspiring space, perfect for a leisurely coffee break.

It was quite cold the day when we visited, and we barely ordered and then our drinks arrived. You have a stunning view of the ocean in front of you and there is something for everyone here. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, and if it is cold, then you’ll be treated to a blanket to keep you warm.
