ToggleThings to do in Storms River
Here are some of my favourite things to do in the area:
Explore the Garden Route National Park
Storms River is home to a section of the breathtaking (📍) Garden Route National Park, a haven for nature lovers. This must-visit park is surrounded by a rugged coastline and pristine ocean views. And, dare I say, some of the best ocean views in South Africa? It’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and experience some of the most scenic landscapes in South Africa.
There are various things you can do at the park, and these include:
Hike the trails
The park offers a range of hiking trails, from easy strolls to more challenging treks. The Mouth Trail is a favourite, leading you through the indigenous forest to the famous Storms River Suspension Bridge. Keep your camera ready as the views are spectacular.
Another popular trail is the one leading up to the Tsitsikamma waterfall, also known to be part of the world-renowned Otter Trail.

Cross the Storms River Suspension Bridge
One of the most iconic spots in the area is the Storms River Suspension Bridge, which stretches across the river mouth with waves crashing below. Crossing this swaying bridge is an exhilarating experience, and the view of the river meeting the Indian Ocean is nothing short of breathtaking.

Grab a bite to eat at Cattle Baron
If you fancy a meal with a view, then make sure to refuel at Cattle Baron, located within the national park. Known for its delicious steaks, this spot offers hearty meals while you can take in the natural surroundings.

Kayaking with Untouched Adventures
If you’re craving some water-based excitement, join Untouched Adventures for a kayaking experience along the Storms River Gorge. You’ll paddle through ancient cliffs and drift under lush forest canopies. It’s an unforgettable way to see the river from a whole new perspective.
