You can find the longest zipline over the ocean located in Mossel Bay, which forms part of the Garden Route area.

ToggleThis was one of our most expensive activities, but it was so worth it! The views, the wind in your hair, and the adrenaline make up for it.

Basic information
Price:
It is R800 per person. (2024)
They also have a photographer there who can take photos for you at an additional R220pp. But more on that later!
Location:
You can find the entrance located close to the aquarium. You cannot miss it, as there are big signs everywhere.
Operating Times:
They are open from 9 am to 4 pm.
They also don’t do any bookings, as this activity is weather-permitted.
Our experience
After our second attempt, we finally got our tickets. The first time we went, the wind was a bit stormy which meant that there was a weight limit on the zipline. Therefore we decided to rather come back another time when everyone was able to join in the fun.
I really suggest going early in the morning, as the wind tends to pick up in the afternoons.
After making payment, you get your sticker and make your way to the deck. Here you’ll get all the gear you need and then make your way to the zipline van.
You take the short drive to the top where they then brief you on everything you need to know. Then one by one you’ll make your way down. I was quite surprised by how slow you go, as it looked much faster from below.
It was amazing to see the massive waves crash just beneath you. And if you are lucky enough (or unlucky…) you’ll even get sprayed by the ocean mist.
I’ve even seen people being completely soaked afterward by a wave.
The photographs
As I’ve mentioned before, there is a professional photographer on-site. You can pay R220 which will give you 8 photos. At the pay station, you’ll get a sticker with a specific colour. That colour indicates whether you have ordered photos or not. It is then communicated by the crew at the top with the photographer at the bottom.
The photos are then shared with you via WhatsApp.
